Pragmatic Modernisation
With the NivuFlow 750 multi-measurement point device in combination with the NPP pipe sensor (cleverly installed below the pipe due to the space available), we are replacing 35 magnetic-inductive partial filling devices in this example of a wastewater pumping station in Scandinavia.
For the first time in 30 years, this set-up also makes it possible to measure the discharge that occurs when the pumping capacity is exceeded. The discharge is then channelled and drained via a separate, partially filled pipe. The NivuFlow 750 multi-measurement point device measures not only the pumping volume, but also the discharge volume separately and transmits this data separately and cumulatively to the process control system. This means that capacities can be planned and utilised more efficiently in the future.
The magnetic-inductive devices previously installed were unreliable due to their susceptibility to contamination and are at a technical disadvantage with partially filled pipes.
Together with the NPP pipe sensor, the NivuFlow 750 represents a low-maintenance solution that enables two measurements with one transmitter at low conversion costs and without extensive construction work.
